Kenlite^®

The brand name Kenlite® traces its roots back to the early 1950s in Kentucky’s clay-rich heartland. In 1953, Kentucky Light Aggregates, Inc. – known by its brand name Kenlite – built the state’s first lightweight aggregate plant near Shepherdsville, KY. This pioneering venture was a division of the Ohio River Sand Company and marked the introduction of expanded shale aggregate production in the state.

Fast forward to the present, and Kenlite’s story continues under the stewardship of Arcosa Lightweight (a division of Arcosa, Inc.). The Kenlite brand now falls under Arcosa’s portfolio of lightweight aggregate solutions, ensuring that this historic name carries on with the backing of a nationwide industry leader.
